From Mom:

I thought I would let you know that Cromwell beat its opponent (Valley Regional) yesterday in a double overtime 4-2.  That means we advance in the competition.  Wed. the team is playing Somers (I think) at a stadium in New Britain.  It will be a night game.

Adams bumped heads with an opponent at yesterday's game.  He had to have stitches in his eyebrow area (8).  He is feeling pretty good.  The swelling is not ping pong ball sized anymore.  He could actually open his eye this morning.  So I think that the bone took the impact.  He is actually anxious to play.  The stitches  could pop open if he did.  Keep him in your prayers.

Has everyone heard about the meteor shower tonight?  Olivia and I are thinking of waking up at some point in the night to go see it-- it should be pretty awesome!!!

Would anyone like to start a book club with me?  It wouldn't have to be very formal... I was thinking that a different person could suggest a book every week (or month).  We could discuss it or not-- up to you all :)

Ahem...

As of yet, only Mom and I have written on this blog.  Yes, you read that right- Mom beat you all to the punch :P

Boo!

(I removed the pictures and put them on my blog, as I think they were slowing the page down too much... we'll see :P)

The students on Condo Row put on their own parade this past weekend!  I took pictures on my phone, but I can't find the connector :(  However, short description:  THEY HAD A FLOAT!!!  The end.  (Not really.)  But I was impressed with the fact they actually found one (and the giant wooden contraption has just been sitting on the street since).  There were tons of costumed people on top of said float that chucked Twinkies at us cheering masses.  In addition to the pastry hauling celebrators, there was a guy playing bagpipes, Pacman (chased by ghosts, of course), Michael Jackson, a parade queen on top of a scootered couch, lots of costumed ninjas fighting in the middle of the street, scooters, motorcycles, etc.  They basically went around the block about 5 times to loud music and our cheers, then raffled off pineapples, and started a dance party in the middle of the street.  Oh, did I mention this was all at noon on Saturday?  It was pretty awesome.

Speaking of Halloween:

Friday night- I hung out with good ol' Connecticutians.  Us girls dressed up as single ladies and went dancing.  At one point, the DJ (who we knew) kicked everyone else off the mini-stages near his table so we could get up and dance to our song :)

Saturday night- My roommates and I were CLUE characters!!!!

In order, here are my roommates (hometowns)/ their characters: Annie Anderson (Monticello, Utah)/ Colonel Mustard; Me (Cromwell, CT)/ Miss Scarlet; Rachel Longhurst (Danville, California)/Mrs. Peacock; Jamie Wheeler (Bountiful, Utah)/Mr(s). Green; Becca Adamson (Pasco, Washington)/Mrs. White; Olivia Christensen (Royal City, Washington)/Professor Plum.  (Olivia is my room-roommate.)  We all wore necklaces with the weapon pieces tied to them.  Lightweight AND fashionable!  :)

We attempted to go trick-or-treating.  Becca, Rachel, and Annie brought us to their old Bishop's neighborhood, which happens to be gated.  We actually got in, but we only got 3 (king-sized!) candy bars because we went too late.  But then we went to the WLC dance (got lots of candy from there!), a dance at a blue house (it was PACKED-- I'm pretty impressed I didn't outright fall over in my heels), and rounded out the night watching A Nightmare Before Christmas at home sweet home.

How did everyone else spend their Halloween?

Today I went door-to-door passing out political literature about our neighbor running for first selectman.

Adams played his last soccer in-season game. O'Kara and I went to Westbrook, CT to watch him play. He is so aware of the ball and other players. Fun to watch that boy! O'Kara and I sat in one camp chair because it was so cold.
